Installing a Flukso sensor node

The 8-pin terminal blocks arrived early this week. We've now mounted our sensor board onto the router board and connected the 4 sensor ports to the terminal block.

Installation is a straightforward DIY:

  • Secure the Flukso sensor node with a plastic cable tie in the vicinity of the circuit breaker panel.
  • For a single phase supply, connect the split core current clamp across the main phase or neutral wire. A three-phase supply would require three current clamps.
  • Connect the clamp's sensor cable to the proper input port of the sensor node.
  • Power up the sensor node by connecting the 3.3V adapter plug.
  • Configure the wireless interface through the web-based GUI so that the FLukso sensor node can connect to your local wifi network.

We'll put the sensor node through its paces the coming weeks, including some load and endurance testing.
